Visiting a Goshala can be an exhilarating experience. Somewhat similar experience Nithika, Tanvi, Cheranvi and Aadhirai had when they came for a field trip to Organo Bakaram Goshala. They along with their parents visited this desi dairy in Bakaram village on 23rd Apr’22, last Saturday.
On 17th March 2022, we had lovely weather at the OES Children's Farm. It sure was a very pleasant Sunday morning, despite the summer. All the Spring Batch young farmers arrived early at 8:00am for the session. All of them were extremely excited to have a look at their respective farm patches, as they came to the farm after a gap.

As summer is approaching fast in Hyderabad, session 8 of BAF Spring batch started earlier than usual, on Sunday, at 8:00am. Children arrived early to commence their farm learning on 27 Mar,22 at OES Children’s Farm.

On a bright Sunday morning of 9 Jan 2022, OES Kinder Gardeners program came to an end, with our Kinder Gardeners Manas and Aishwarya graduating.
On 19 Dec 22, the sun was out as the farm patches being ready, with a quick clean-up of weeds done by farming support staff during the week. Our farm coaches Shilpa Teja and Venkatesh were ready with the kids for new activities.
Now, Be A Farmer Sundays are filled with energy, cheer and laughter. All young farmers arrive at the Organo Et School Children's Farm campus at 9:00 am. They are equipped with their farming tools, watering cans or buckets and lots of enthusiasm.

The God’s Own Office – Club house at Antharam, was a perfect venue for Organo Et School workshop on Microgreens. The morning sun in the backdrop was just perfect for this open-air program. This Do-It-Yourself, Microgreen's workshop was conducted by our Expert Ms. Sreedevi Ande. She really displays her microgreen planters very well, according to their growth stages. These were eco-friendly organic coconut-shells with beautiful wheatgrass microgreens, in various stages of growth.
Eco-anxiety is very real; It is psychological distress caused by a chronic fear of environmental doom. Generation next is fearing that they are inheriting a damaged planet with fast-depleting natural resources, melting polar caps with rising sea levels that will inundate bustling coastal cities, and air that is gradually becoming unbreathable. This presents a fearful picture to them.

On 23rd Oct 2021, Saturday as the sun went down over the canopies of Slow Down Place, Aziz Nagar, Organo Et School team and Urban Gardening expert Ms.Sreedevi Ande, welcomed the participants of “Learn to Grow Your Own Microgreens" DIY workshop. As the participants started joining, they got excited looking at the beautiful Microgreen planters.
Last Saturday 23rd October 21 was time well spent by participants of the Urban Permaculture workshop, organized by Organo Et School, at Slow Down Place, a simple place with ½ acre of vegetable garden, to grow its own produce.
Deepavali is round the corner, and we all are putting our thoughts together about decoration ideas for our homes and offices. We are also looking for gifting ideas to friends and family over Diwali time.
Monsoon rains extended into October making this monsoon farm cycle quite unpredictable. But that didn’t dampen the enthusiasm of the children, parents or OES team members.
With rain forecasts threatening our farm again, we decided to have the long overdue session on Botanic Illustration and the importance of Plant Documentation. Our regular Creative Expert Anu Dahiya led this event and engaged the children in a step-by-step method of plant observation and documentation.
Finally, the sun was out, the farm was dry and the beds were ready. With a quick clean-up of weeds and overgrowth, our farm coaches and kids were ready for sowing...At OES, we continue to admire the enthusiasm and resilience with which the parents and children participate in the program, despite the multiple flooding. It goes to show how much we want our children to learn and navigate real world experience of reward and perseverance. It makes us want to continue to work hard to deliver a solid and natural learning experience.
The most important legacy we leave for our children is the planet with all its resources. The current situation leaves no doubt in our predicament; We are at the cross-road to make decisions that will create a lasting impact on our planet. The health and future of our children are in our hands.
In the event of October 2021 being declared as the “Cyber Security Awareness Month” by DSCI. On a bright Sunday morning of 9th October 2021, we logged in for an online Workshop lead by our Cyber Security expert Mr.Sriram. The young participants in the age bracket of 10-16 yrs were all set to join in. They logged in to an informative session on dangers of the cyber world for children. While they are either studying online or playing or chatting with friends on social media.
Microgreens are 'baby plants', that fall in a category between sprouts and baby leaf vegetables. They have a strong aromatic flavor and concentrated nutrient content and come in a variety of colors and textures. Microgreens are known to boost our immunity with their high nutritious composition and are also very easy to harvest.

Meena of OES and I were discussing the importance of teaching young ones about different ways to keep in touch with Nature and her ways. One thing led to another and we were actively thinking of conducting a basic introduction course to the Permaculture workshop.
Organized by Organo Et School and taught by Certified Permaculture teachers Uma Iyer and Apoorva Gautham, participants experienced an interactive and engaging learning session that gave a comprehensive overview on permaculture.

It was another rainy morning with few sunny breaks thrown in by Rain Gods. Children logged in from their computers for an online session with our in-house expert Meena Murugappan.
For the longest time, paper napkins and paper tissues were not a part of Indian everyday living. We were content with using cloth towels for face, hand and body drying. Over the last couple of decades, these thin papers rapidly made their way into our catering services, restaurants, households and offices.
What a rainy week we saw in Hyderabad! We experienced a Cloud Burst, which was followed by days of consistent rains, and resulted in minor flooding of our Children’s farm. While our temporary drainage solution worked, the trench could not match the water-logging rate to the water-drainage rate.
A key component of Natural Farming methods is Soil Health. Beneficial micro-organisms help "Dead Soil" become"Living Soil". Micro-organisms decompose and ferment organic parts ofthe soil system, converting them into humus containing nutrients and releasinghormones facilitating plant growth. In addition, they improve soil aggregatequality and soil stability, enabling it to retain nutrients and moisture (Kengoand Hui-lian, 2000).
