Organo Et School organized a unique fitness program in collaboration with Ms Chandana Mannedi, which combines Gardening + Exercise = ‘Gardencercize’. Ms Chandana is a celebrity fitness coach, movement therapist and Pilates expert. This program was kickstarted by a live 1-hour online talk where she explained about the concept of Gardencercize-ing.

“There are various touch points in our body which need to be activated for overall mental and physical development and wellbeing. One can ensure this happens by being close to soil, plants and working with them. Also, for physical fitness we need to exercise and practice sitting in relaxed positions which are natural to us. But we have not practiced these postures and our bodies are not used to these due to disuse. While gardening we can easily start practicing these postures and increase flexibility.” said Chandana.

Chandana briefly touched these areas in the webinar and will be teaching these during live gardening & farming workshops, to be held at OES Children’s farm campus in a series of 3-farm workshops in June 2022.
