Empowering people to embrace eco-living solutions, mind-sets and habits
As eco habitat designers, we knew that sustainability is a long term goal, and that it is intergenerational. One of the things that we aim to do was make sure that multiple generations understand what sustainability is. Be it about safe food, energy, demand reduction, and water demand reduction.
We aim to educate and empower children, communities, and corporate companies on how to adopt sustainable practices.
We conduct the following farming programs at OES Children's Farm Campus, Kesaram Village near Chevalla.
"Be A Farmer" an 8 weeks program for children,
"Kinder Gardeners" is a 5 weeks farming program for young kids
Be A Farmer Teens is a 5 weeks program for teenagers
We also run 1-2 days workshops based on Sapthapadha on topics like Home Composting, Kitchen Gardening, Microgreens, Decluttering, Waste Management, and Permaculture.
In addition to this, we have three 3 sub-programs to achieve our aim.
One is called Organo@Schools, where we partner with progressive schools that are focusing on sustainable education, and help them impart experiential learning about sustainability. We believe that connecting children with the natural world at a young age is the first step in creating responsible stewards of our collective future. Download Brouchure
The second is Organo@Communities, where we work with gated communities. We go and audit their current practices and see what the gaps are and help design a roadmap that will help convert the existing community into an eco-habitat. That might be suggestions on how to produce your own energy, how to transition from aesthetic landscaping, to productive landscaping, and many aspects that will help communities move from a consumer mindset to a producer mindset.
And the third, is Organo@Corporates, which is a program designed to help corporate employees adopt more earth-friendly practices within their office environments. And also to see how their work styles can be changed a little bit to be more earth-friendly.
Now, these three programs have become our main drivers for and motivations for imparting education on sustainability. We hope to continue to do that. And thankfully, we've been getting some positive responses from the citizens of Hyderabad and that gives us even more motivation to continue to do this.
