On the 7th and 8th of February, My Home Ankura witnessed a delightful blend of art, observation, and nature learning as Organo Et School (OES) conducted an engaging workshop on botanical illustration for children in the community.
The two-day workshop was thoughtfully designed to introduce young participants to the beauty and intricacy of plant life through art. Children began by closely observing leaves, flowers, and small plants around them—learning to notice details such as shapes, textures, patterns, and colors that often go unnoticed in everyday life.

Guided by the OES volunteers’ team, participants translated these observations into detailed botanical illustrations. They were encouraged to draw with patience and precision, capturing the unique characteristics of each plant. This process helped children slow down, focus, and develop a deeper connection with nature.
The sessions were interactive and immersive, with children enthusiastically sharing their work and discoveries. Parents, too, appreciated the mindful approach of the workshop, which moved away from screen-based activities and encouraged hands-on engagement with the natural environment.

Through initiatives like this, Organo Et School continues to promote experiential and nature-based learning within communities. The botanical illustration workshop at My Home Ankura not only nurtured artistic skills but also instilled curiosity, observation, and respect for the natural world. Such experiences remind us that learning can be simple, meaningful, and deeply rooted in the world around us—one leaf, one flower and one sketch at a time.
Organo Et School empowers people to embrace eco-living mindsets, behaviours, and habits. We recognize that for any positive impact to be sustainable, it must be long-term and inter-generational.
UNESCO recognized Organo Et School as a green citizen initiative and Uplink, the open innovation platform of the World Economic Forum (WEF) recognized OES as Global Innovative Solution.
