On 5th August 2026, Organo Et School brought sunshine into the classroom — quite literally — with an interactive Solar Energy Workshop for students of Classes 5 to 8 at Mandel Parishad Upper Primary school, Damaragidda. 27 curious young minds spent the day discovering how the sun, something they see every single day, can be turned into a powerful source of clean energy.

The session, led by Ms. Kalyani from Organo Et School, didn't begin with big scientific terms —it began with the students themselves, and the everyday moments in their own lives that already run on energy: a fan spinning over their head, a digital board in their classroom, a bulb switched on after sunset.
From these familiar, ordinary examples, the conversation gradually widened — touching on
Where does energy come from?
Why is sunlight increasingly seen as the answer?

As the conversation unfolded, photovoltaic (PV) cells came into focus. Students discovered how these quiet, unassuming panels harness sunlight and transform it into clean electricity—powering our lives silently, efficiently, and without polluting the environment.
They understood the same sunlight pouring through their classroom windows could one day power their homes, schools, and entire world.
When Learning Connect Daily Life
The workshop didn't stop at theory. Students were encouraged to look at their own daily habits and ask how they could contribute to a greener future — switching off lights and fans in empty rooms, relying more on daylight, and understanding that every unit of electricity saved matters. These small, practical lessons helped turn a science topic into an everyday responsibility.

A solar-themed word search to reinforce new vocabulary like "photovoltaic" and "renewable," a quick quiz that let their new understanding shine through, and a fun, hands-on experiment guide for building a simple solar oven using everyday items like a pizza box, aluminum foil, and black paper. A take-home activity sheet became a bridge between the classroom and home, encouraging them to keep exploring solar energy long after the workshop ended.
From Parts to Power

After the activity quiz, children were introduced to the practical world of how solar energy works. Small teams formed, solar kits in hand, and the classroom quietly transformed into a space where learning felt more like discovery than instruction. Wires, panels, and small connectors replaced pens and notebooks. And in every corner of the room, small teams huddled together — comparing ideas, testing connections, and cheering the moment their circuit sparked to life.

As sunlight hit their kits and they sprang to life, the room broke into cheers.
What made this moment powerful wasn't the kit itself — it was the shift it created. In that classroom, solar energy stopped being a concept in a textbook and became something children could see, touch, and build with their own hands.
The Real Takeaway

The goal has never been to simply introduce solar panels or explain how electricity is generated. It's to help students realise, early in life, that they are not just passive learners but active participants in building a more sustainable future. When a child understands that their small choices — saving energy, using daylight wisely, or exploring clean technology — can genuinely make a difference, something shifts. Curiosity turns into responsibility, and responsibility, over time, becomes habit.
That is the quiet, lasting impact of a workshop like this. It's not measured only in solar kits assembled or facts learned, but in the mindset it leaves behind — one of awareness, ownership, and hope.
A single day, one classroom, and twenty-seven students at MPUPS Damaragidda — but the curiosity sparked here, and the seeds of responsibility planted, may just power tomorrow.
