Organo Et School (OES) hosted an enriching two-day community workshop at Jayabheri Orange County on the 25th and 26th of January, bringing residents together to explore sustainability through hands-on learning and traditional practices. The event served as a vibrant platform for families and children to connect, create, and learn as a community.

The workshop began on 25th January with engaging sessions on yarn making and kitchen gardening. Participants were introduced to the traditional craft of transforming raw fibers into yarn, where both children and adults enthusiastically tried their hand at the process. This activity sparked curiosity and appreciation for handmade traditions.
Alongside this, the kitchen gardening session emphasized the importance of soil health and plant care. Residents learned simple and practical ways to grow vegetables and herbs at home, promoting healthier lifestyles and a deeper connection with nature.

On 26th January, the spirit of learning continued with a basket weaving workshop. The day began with Republic Day celebrations, where residents gathered for the flag unfurling. Following this, many visited the OES booth to learn more about its initiatives and activities. Skilled artisans then led the basket weaving session, demonstrating techniques using natural materials. Participants actively engaged in the process, gaining insight into the craftsmanship, patience, and skill required for this traditional art form. The session also highlighted the significance of preserving indigenous knowledge and supporting local artisans.

Through these thoughtfully designed activities, Organo Et School fostered a space where sustainability, creativity, and community spirit came together seamlessly. Such initiatives reflect OES’s ongoing commitment to experiential learning and its vision of building environmentally conscious and culturally rooted communities.
