On 2nd January 2026, two M.Arch students from GITAM School of Architecture, Visakhapatnam visited Organo Antharam and Organo Damaragidda as part of an academic study tour. Both projects, developed by Organo Eco Habitats, provided the students with an opportunity to observe how sustainable design principles are applied in developing real residential eco-communities.
During the visit, the students explored different aspects of climate-responsive architecture. At Organo Damaragidda, they closely observed how natural daylight enters and illuminates the houses. By studying the orientation of the buildings, placement of windows, and the use of open spaces, the students analyzed how daylighting strategies help reduce reliance on artificial lighting while creating comfortable indoor environments and reducing the usage of energy consumption.
They also visited Organo Antharam and observed the wind flow patterns and ventilation within the residential layout. They observed how the planning of houses, streets, and green spaces allows natural air movement across the site. This helped them understand how proper architectural planning can enhance ventilation, improve indoor air quality, and maintain thermal comfort in homes, thereby reducing the dependence on air conditioners and lowering overall energy consumption.
The visit offered valuable experiential learning for the students, allowing them to connect classroom theories with practical applications. By studying daylighting, wind flow, and sustainable planning strategies, the M.Arch students gained important insights into designing environmentally responsible buildings and communities for the future.
Organo Et School empowers people to embrace eco-living mindsets, behaviors, and habits. We recognize that for any positive impact to be sustainable, it must be long-term and inter-generational.
UNESCO recognized Organo Et School as a green citizen initiative and Uplink, the open innovation platform of the World Economic Forum (WEF) recognized OES as Global Innovative Solution.
Organo Et School is an experiential learning initiative set up by Organo in 2017 and has been facilitating field visits and workshops for Schools and Interest Groups.
