What happens when educators, sustainability experts, and mentors come together with a shared vision for the future?
On 6 June 2026, Organo Et School (OES) hosted a meaningful mentor and expert meeting focused on strengthening experiential sustainability education for children and communities.

The session began with Ms. Meena Murugappan highlighting the importance of mentors and experts in shaping impactful learning experiences. Ms. Kalyani S presented the journey of OES, sharing the organization’s key learnings, progress, and vision for building sustainability-centered educational ecosystems.
A key focus of the discussion was an important question:
How do we move children from awareness to action?

The meeting brought forward several inspiring ideas and initiatives. Mr. G. Ugandhar Nath Reddy emphasized the importance of reconnecting children with foundational ecological understanding through concepts like “Know Your Cattle,” helping students understand animals, soil microorganisms, and natural systems.
Mr. Avinash Visvanathan proposed a “Young Naturalist Program” to help children understand biodiversity and environmental health through direct observation and experiential learning. Mr Sakeerth highlighted the importance of addressing E-waste through educational field visits.
Ms. Sreedevi Ande shared insights on urban gardening and sustainable living, while Ms. Uma Iyer reflected on how children naturally embrace experiential learning through farming-based programs.

The discussion also encouraged schools to think about sustainability holistically through:
The mentors collectively agreed to continue collaborating through quarterly meetings and by expanding the network of experts contributing to OES initiatives.
The session reinforced a powerful message:
Sustainability education becomes meaningful when children experience, observe, question, and engage with the world around them.

At OES, we believe that building environmentally conscious future generations requires collaboration between schools, educators, experts, parents, and communities.
If you are an educator, mentor, expert, or institution interested in being part of this growing sustainability movement, we would be delighted to connect with you and collaborate on meaningful learning initiatives.
