What happens when teachers move beyond teaching about sustainability and begin designing learning experiences that inspire students to live it?
On 10th June 2026, Delhi Public School, Khajaguda became a vibrant hub of innovation and collaboration as 145 educators from Early Years to Grade 5 participated in an immersive Education for Sustainability Program conducted by Organo Et School (OES).
The session was designed not just to create awareness about sustainability, but to empower teachers to integrate it meaningfully into everyday teaching and learning.

The program began with an engaging session by Ms. Kalyani from Organo Et School, who introduced educators to the concept of sustainability and explored why it is no longer an optional topic, but an essential life skill that must be woven into the curriculum. The discussion highlighted the urgent need to prepare students to become responsible citizens who understand their role in creating a sustainable future.
Moving from theory to practice, teachers were challenged to become curriculum designers. Working collaboratively, they selected real-world sustainability themes such as:

The energy in the room was inspiring. Teachers brainstormed, debated, designed, and developed innovative curriculum ideas that connected sustainability with age-appropriate learning experiences. Each group presented its curriculum framework to fellow participants, showcasing creative ways to transform sustainability concepts into engaging classroom experiences.
What stood out was the educators' ability to move beyond isolated activities and envision sustainability as an ongoing learning journey. Their ideas demonstrated how environmental responsibility can be nurtured through inquiry, observation, action, and reflection.
The learning continued with a Classroom Sustainability Audit Checklist activity. Teachers critically examined their own learning environments and identified three practical improvements that could be implemented immediately. This exercise encouraged participants to view classrooms not just as places of instruction but as living laboratories where sustainable practices can be modeled every day.
The enthusiasm was remarkable. Teachers eagerly discussed challenges, identified opportunities, and exchanged practical solutions that could make an immediate impact within their schools.

As the session concluded, teachers were encouraged to document and share their sustainability journeys. Every small change in classroom practices, student behavior, or school culture has the potential to inspire others. Participants were invited to share their stories, successes, and lessons learned, which may be featured on the Organo Et School website to encourage and support a growing community of sustainability champions.
The workshop at Delhi Public School, Khajaguda was more than a professional development session. It was a reminder that meaningful change begins with empowered educators. When teachers are equipped with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to integrate sustainability into everyday learning, they become catalysts for transformation—not only within their classrooms but within entire school communities.
As schools continue to prepare learners for an uncertain future, one message resonated strongly throughout the day:
Sustainability is not another subject to teach. It is a way of thinking, living, and learning that can shape a better future for all.
Organo Et School empowers people to embrace eco-living mindsets, behaviors, and habits. We recognize that for any positive impact to be sustainable, it must be long-term and inter-generational.
UNESCO recognized Organo Et School as a green citizen initiative and Uplink, the open innovation platform of the World Economic Forum (WEF) recognized OES as Global Innovative Solution.
