Organo Et School (OES) organised an interactive workshop on 6th December 2025 for the residents of Organo Antharam on the theme “Smart Water Strategies at Organo Antharam”. The objective of the workshop was to engage with the community and build a shared understanding of water sources, usage patterns, and sustainable water management practices adopted at the Organo Antharam.

The session began with a welcome address by Mr. Rakesh Koti, Director, Organo Eco Habitats, who introduced the participants to the integrated water management philosophy of Organo Antharam. He explained that the project has been thoughtfully designed with the intent of achieving long-term water security for the community, guided by three key pillars: water balance, water security, and water quality. He further highlighted how a closed-loop water system has been implemented to minimise dependency on external sources and promote water conservation.

Following this, Mr. Rajsekhar Talluri, Lead – MEP & OFM, provided insights into the technical aspects of water and wastewater management at the site. He explained the functioning of the Eco STP (Ecological Sewage Treatment Plant), a nature-inspired wastewater treatment system that treats all domestic sewage using gravity, microbial processes, and planted wetlands. Unlike conventional systems, the Eco STP operates without energy-intensive mechanical aeration or chemicals, producing clear treated water on site for reuse.
He also elaborated on the facility management practices that ensure efficient and uninterrupted water services, including daily operation and monitoring of pumps, STPs, and water meters; regular water quality testing; preventive maintenance of water infrastructure; and periodic water audits and incident management. These measures collectively ensure reliable water supply and high-quality standards for residents.

The workshop also emphasised the role of individual action in achieving the larger goal of water conservation. Ms. Kalyani S from the OES team spoke about how mindful daily practices at the household level can significantly contribute to sustainable water management. She shared practical water-saving strategies across different areas of the home, including the kitchen, bathroom, laundry, and gardens, demonstrating how small changes can lead to substantial water savings.

The session concluded with a collective call to action, encouraging residents to actively participate in responsible water use and stewardship. As highlighted during the discussion, working together as a community can help make Organo Antharam a model for conscious and responsible water living.
