Organo Et School (OES) organized a two-day experiential learning workshop at the community of Legend Chimes on 25th and 26th January. The event brought together children, families, and community members to experience traditional crafts through engaging, hands-on activities.
Basket Weaving

On 25th January, the highlight of the workshop was a basket weaving session conducted by skilled artisans from villages in Telangana. The basket weavers introduced children to the traditional craft of weaving baskets using natural materials. Through patient guidance and demonstrations, the artisans showed participants how simple strips of material can be woven together to create beautiful and functional baskets. The activity not only helped children learn a new skill but also gave them an appreciation for traditional craftsmanship and the knowledge passed down through generations.
Yarn Making

The following day, on 26th January, the community gathered at the park area of Legend Chimes to celebrate Republic Day. As families assembled near the flag hoisting area, Organo Et School set up an interactive activity station where participants could explore yarn-making. Mr. Sai Kumar demonstrated the process of transforming raw fibers into yarn, allowing children and adults to try the technique themselves. The activity sparked curiosity and conversations about the methods of making everyday materials.
Backyard Gardening

Later in the evening, Ms. Sreedevi Ande, an urban gardening expert, conducted a backyard gardening workshop for residents. During the session, she explained the basics of gardening, including the use of compost and cocopeat, and emphasized the importance of maintaining healthy soil for growing plants successfully at home.

Through these workshops, Organo Et School created a platform for the community to reconnect with traditional knowledge and sustainable practices, making learning both meaningful and enjoyable for participants of all ages.
