As part of our ongoing commitment to community learning, Organo Et School (OES) conducted an engaging educational session for the children at the Kandawada camp school. This vibrant day of learning blended indoor and outdoor activities, aimed at nurturing curiosity, creativity, and a connection with nature.

We began the session by introducing our specially designed activity book — “Seed School.” Created exclusively for young children, this hands-on book is packed with age-appropriate activities including tracing, mazes, spot-the-difference, puzzles, and more. Carefully crafted to enhance early literacy, numeracy, and fine motor skills, Seed School book encourages learning through play — something every child instinctively embraces.

The teacher was guided through the structure and objectives of the book to support ongoing engagement. The children, eager and excited, immediately began exploring its pages, showcasing how seamlessly play and learning come together for young minds.

The day continued with an outdoor gardening session, reflecting OES’s belief in integrated learning — where both indoor and outdoor environments serve as classrooms. Children were introduced to simple gardening tools like shovels and rakes, learning how to break soil clumps and prepare the ground for planting. They then planted leafy vegetable seeds, along with tomato and brinjal saplings, under the guidance of Ms. Kalyani and Ms. Susmita from OES. The session included hands-on demonstrations on sowing, deweeding, and watering techniques.

What made the experience especially meaningful was the children’s wholehearted involvement. Many pledged to water the plants daily and ensure their healthy growth. This not only instills a sense of responsibility but also encourages children to attend school regularly and build a deeper relationship with the natural world.

Through initiatives like these, OES continues to encourage simple,  joyful, experiential learning — rooted in ecological awareness, care, and creativity.
