As part of our Seed School Program, a farming activity was conducted for children on 16th October 2025 at Organo Damaragidda. The session was designed to give children a hands-on understanding of how food grows — right from the seed to the soil.

The program began with an engaging interaction where children were introduced to the different types of seeds and asked if they had ever seen or participated in farming before. Some children excitedly shared their experiences of visiting farms in their villages, setting a warm tone for the day.

Ms. Susmitha and Ms. Kalyani then briefed the children on the various stages of farming — including soil preparation, sowing, applying Jeevamrutham, and natural pest control methods. This discussion helped children appreciate the effort and care that go into growing crops sustainably.

After the briefing, the children headed to the farm along with the Organo Farm Team — Mr. Venkatesh, Mr. Mahindra, and Farming Supervisor Mr. Sudarshan — who guided them through the practical aspects of soil preparation and sowing. The children enthusiastically took part in the activities, getting their hands muddy as they sowed seeds and watered them with care. Many of them expressed excitement about nurturing and watering the plants regularly to see them grow.

Following the farming activity, the children engaged in a creative session where they painted bird-shaped cutouts. These colorful creations were later used as part of the Diwali decorations in the form of vibrant “thorans.”

The activity beautifully blended learning, creativity, and environmental awareness, giving the children a memorable experience of connecting with nature and understanding the essence of sustainable living.
