On 24th May 2025, Organo Et School, in collaboration with Friends of Snake Society (FOSS), hosted a highly engaging and educational Snake Awareness Workshop with 75 participants at Organo Antharam.
The session was organized for the Organo Eco Habitats community residents and the site operations staff to deepen their understanding and awareness of the local reptilian biodiversity.
The workshop offered participants a rare and close-up encounter with ten live snakes, all of which had been rescued by FOSS and are native to Telangana. These encounters provided a safe and informative setting for attendees to learn about different snake species found in the region.
A key focus of the workshop was helping participants distinguish between venomous and non-venomous snakes, an essential skill in promoting safe and respectful coexistence with wildlife.
The FOSS team also shared fascinating facts and Indian cultural perspectives about snakes, sparking curiosity and challenging common misconceptions.
The interactive format encouraged attendees to ask questions and engage in discussions. Participants got a deeper understanding of the ecological role snakes play, their importance in maintaining balance in natural ecosystems, and the steps one can take to coexist safely and respectfully with them.
The knowledgeable FOSS team patiently addressed numerous queries, fostering a greater sense of awareness, respect, and appreciation for these often misunderstood reptiles. The Snake Awareness Workshop at Organo Antharam was more than just an educational event—it was a meaningful step toward fostering harmony between humans and wildlife. By demystifying common myths and fears surrounding snakes, the workshop empowered the Organo Eco Habitats community to approach these creatures with knowledge rather than fear.
