On March 12th, 2024, the 2nd-grade students of Shri Ram Academy engaged in a hands-on experiential learning approach to understand sustainability. It marked the 3rd session of the Organo Et School STEL (Sustainability through Experiential Learning) program within their school premises.

Jeevamrutham Application

The young learners of The Shri Ram Academy were very much excited to apply the Jeevamrutham, a natural bio-fertiliser which they prepared the previous week at the Organo Et School farm campus in Kesaram. Guided by farm expert Ms. Sree Devi Ande, they learned to dilute Jeevamrutham with water and apply it to the roots of their plants.

Ms. Sree Devi emphasized the importance of Jeevamrutham for plant growth and its ability to enhance the health of leafy greens. This practical experience deepens their understanding of natural fertilizers' role in promoting plant growth and health.

Mr. Nagraj, the OES farm supervisor, assisted the students in diluting the fertilizer. Additionally, Mr. Nagesh Kumar and Mr. Naga Vamsi Neelam ensured the smooth functioning of the activity.

Students Maintaining Farm Log Book:

Under the guidance of Sandhya Reddi, students are recording various aspects such as weather conditions, dates of seed sowing, seed varieties, germination dates, fertilizer applications, and types of fertilizers used. They have also documented the farm patch preparation checklist and farm shopping list.

This hands-on approach not only helps students understand the practical aspects of sustainability but also instills in them a sense of responsibility towards caring for the environment and the plants they are growing. It's a commendable initiative by Shri Ram Academy to promote experiential learning and environmental consciousness among young students.
